Job Overview

One of our clients located in Wood Dale, IL is seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with accounting procedures, enjoy a fast-paced environment, demonstrate attention to detail, and possess a high level of professionalism. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the accounting team to prepare financial statements, maintain general ledger, process invoices, and payments, and verify transactions.

Responsibilities for Senior Accountant

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies, variance analysis, and other issues that should be brought to the attention of the management team and/or CFO.
  • Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
  • Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
  • Assist in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules.
  • Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports.
  • Comply with GAAP in addition to all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation.
  • Establish and maintain purchasing and inventory systems.
  • Prepare and analyze metrics to maximize efficiencies of services provided.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications for Senior Accountant

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years’ previous experience in a professional accounting role.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be client-service orientated with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Required knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and other applications related to finance and accounting.
