Our Client, Kitchens To Go built by Carlin (KTG), is seeking a Construction Project Manager to join their growing team. This role will supervise the renovation and construction of modular commercial kitchen units as they are customized to clients’ specifications within a factory setting. This is an exciting opportunity, based out of KTG’s Renovation Center in Etna Green, Indiana, that offers a high-level of autonomy, competitive compensation, a full benefits package, and growth and development opportunities.

Kitchens To Go designs, sells, and leases commercial kitchen facilities throughout the US and all over the world with 28 international locations to date. KTG’s serves clients across several industries including healthcare, education, restaurant and hospitality, business & industry, military, government, disaster recovery, corrections, and senior living. Some of their notable clients include Starbucks, Yum Brands, Apple, University of Southern California, the American Red Cross, and all branches of the Armed Forces.

Essential Job Duties

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff and project teams through organizing and monitoring workflow. Responsible for recruiting, selecting, training, and developing team members.
  • Accomplish desired results and project objectives by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing KTG policies and procedures.
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, recommending action, and executing improvement plans.

Project Management

  • Assess the scope of work and determine the material and labor resources needed for the project.
  • Create project plans by reviewing and analyzing drawings, setting project timeline, scheduling and assigning personnel, and establishing priorities.
  • Manage workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources,
  • Identify areas of improvement by studying methods, implementing cost reduction efforts, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation and problem-solving mindset within and between departments.
  • Produce relevant data, information, and statistics by initiating, compiling, sorting, and analyzing project performance records; respond to questions and requests around performance data and records.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure optimal operations by calling for repairs, adhering to KTG processes and standards, and evaluating new processes and techniques.

Quality and Safety

  • Maintain quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Promote a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to KTG’s safety philosophy by completing daily compliance checks and coordinating necessary inspections to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, reviewing record-keeping systems, assessing forms of control, and monitoring budgetary and personnel requirements.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, establishing professional networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional and trade societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


Job Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of commercial kitchen construction experience and at least 5 years of supervisory experience is required. Experience in modular building/construction is preferred.
  • Must have exceptional supervision, coaching, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the areas of process improvement, strategic planning, budgeting, production planning, and reviewing and analyzing drawings.
  • Must work well in dealing with complexity and be successful in working under pressure.
  • Ability and willingness to work upwards of 50 hours per week.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical examination, drug screening, and background check.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Completion of 40 Hour OSHA training
  • CPR and First Aid Training
  • Proficiency with Google products and computers
